Unveiling the Innovative Design of a Unique Three-Level Restaurant

Devesh Pratyay, a renowned designer, has reimagined the concept of a restaurant with his design, The Loft by Clock Tower. The design inspiration was drawn from a typical house with a living level, a dungeon below, and a loft above for storage. Pratyay's design mirrors this structure, creating a unique three-level dining experience.

The Loft by Clock Tower is a testament to the evolving restaurant industry, where the overall dining experience is becoming as important as the food itself. The restaurant offers a unique experience, with patrons entering at level two. Level one is a hidden dungeon, accessible through a door that needs to be cranked open to reveal a hidden staircase. The split levels create distinct spaces based on the privacy needs of the patrons.

Constructed using MS sections and MS checkered sheet, the mezzanine space was created in the first-floor area, taking advantage of the height available. This construction allows patrons to choose their seating based on their privacy needs. The Loft by Clock Tower spans an area of 600 sq. mt. across three levels.

Pratyay's design process was informed by a detailed behavioral analysis of patrons visiting pubs, restaurants, and fine dining spaces. The research findings indicated that people choose their seating based on their group size, privacy needs, and social status. This insight led to the creation of a space that caters to most of these requirements.

The Loft by Clock Tower's design was not without its challenges. The double-height space on the first floor and the low ceiling height space on the ground floor were creatively utilized. The double-height space was divided by adding a mezzanine on the sides, keeping the central area as double height. This central area connects all the divided spaces into a uniform whole and also serves as a viewing area for live performances.

Pratyay's innovative design approach has earned him a Silver A' Design Award, a testament to his creative prowess and technical expertise. This award is given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill. The Loft by Clock Tower, with its unique design and immersive dining experience, certainly fits the bill.
